Welcome lace lovers!  Just love the Southern Serenade stamp set from Stampin’ Up and I’ve been dying to try this layering technique so I decided to combine them. I’ve never realized it before, but I must have an issue with white space, I made two cards using different objects in the background, stamping off twice on both cards, can’t decide which one I like best, what do you think? Initially I was going to just add the “thank you” sentiment on Whisper White cardstock but it looked too plain, I glanced at the Petals & More thinlets and realized this elegant thinlet fit the frame perfectly.

Card Recipe:

Paper:

  • Soft Sky card base 8½ x 4½, scored at 4¼, scrap to back the sentiment
  • Whisper White 5¼ x 4, 2¼ x 3¼, I used the Framelet from the Sliding Door Framelets to cut out the middle, scrap for sentiment
  • Petal Passion Designer Series Paper
  • Basic Black, 3 3/8 x 3 3/8

Stamp Sets and Thinlets:

  • Southern Serenade stamp set
  • Petals & More Thinlits dies
  • Sliding Door Framelts

Color:

  • Black Memento stamp pad
  • VersaMark stamp pad
  • Clear Embossing powder
  • Soft Sky Stamp & Write marker
  • Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends

Other:

  • Black Rhinestones, retired darn it but you can find them at a craft store
  • Tear N Tape, I like to use this on dry and heat embossing because it holds so well
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
