DIY You Amaze Me with Stampin’ Up’s Bird Banter

Let me begin by apologizing, this is my first year as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator so everything is new to me. I just assumed (proof of the definition of the word) that all the products from Sale-A-Bration would be available in the new catalog, but I’m afraid I was mistaken. It looks like the only time you can order the free Sale-A-Bration products are from January 1-March 31st, that’s right, the above basket bundle, the amazing Springtime Foils and all your other favorites from this brochure do not appear in the new catalog. I don’t like to use retired products in my post because I know from experience the frustration of seeing something I love and not being able to purchase it. That being said, there are similar products you can use in their stead. I colored the leaves that were showing from the Blossoming Basket Stamp set, adhered the basket to Old Olive with Stampin’ Dimensional’s, I heat embossed the floral from the Petal Palette stamp set, colored it and cut it out using the Petals and More Thinlets. I used Stampin’ Dimensional’s on the birds and sentiment.

Card Recipe:

Paper:

  • Daffodil Delight card base 8½ x 5½, scored at 4¼,  (I used the Daffodil Delight from the Tutti-Frutti cards & envelopes no longer available)
  • Delightful Daisies DSP 3¼ x 5½
  • Old Olive, 2¾ x 5½
  • Whisper White, scrap for sentiment, birds, basket & flowers

Stamp Set and Framelets:

  • Bird Banter
  • Petal Palette
  • Banners for You
  • Blossoming Basket (no longer available, sorry)
  • Petals & More Thinlets

Color:

  • Old Olive ink pad-Sentiment
  • So Saffron ink pad-Banner
  • Basic Black ink pad
  • Versa Mark
  • Clear Embossing Powder
  • Wink of Stella – butterfly
  • Early Espresso water color pencil-I colored the basket the used my Aqua Painter to blend and soften the color
  • Stampin’ Blend Markers: Old Olive, light and dark, Light and Dark Pink Pirouette, Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Bermuda Bay, Light Pool Party

Other:

  • Stampin’ Dimensional’s (I used these on the cake and flowers)
  • Snail Adhesive

About the Author:

I am a proud mother of 4 and even prouder grandmother of 5. I started "stamping" over 25 years ago and stopped stamping about 10 years after that because I was so frustrated with my results. Enter Pinterest. Inspired by Pinterest and Youtube I got involved again and oh man am I obsessed! I fell in love with Stampin' Up products after seeing all the amazing cards on Pinterest. I chose Stampin' Up because I love how simple it is to make a gorgeous card with all their coordinating colors and products. Hope you enjoy my website.
