DIY Comfort Card Using Stampin’ Up’s Lily Pad Lake & Lakeside Framelits

The Lilypad Lake stamp set creates such a tranquil feeling without even trying. I have so many friends who have lost a loved one, are struggling with health issues or worried about a wayward child.  So far I’ve delivered 3 of these cards in the past week and it’s only Thursday.

The background was created by using Stampin’ UP’s Marbled background stamped with three different colors, I started with Pool Party, then our new Soft Sea Foam and finished with So Saffron. I didn’t make any effort to match up the pattern because I wanted it to be random. The sentiment was first stamped with  wavy stamp using Pool Party then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and backed it with Pool Party cut using the Tailored Tag Punch.

Paper:

  • Pool Party card stock 8½ x 5½, scored at 4¼, 3¾ x 1¾ for the lake and scrap to back sentiment
  • Whisper White 5¼ x 4, 5 x 3¾ for the background, scrap for sentiment and bird & Lilypad
  • So Saffron scrap for sun
  • Old Olive for the grass

About the Author:

I am a proud mother of 4 and even prouder grandmother of 5. I started "stamping" over 25 years ago and stopped stamping about 10 years after that because I was so frustrated with my results. Enter Pinterest. Inspired by Pinterest and Youtube I got involved again and oh man am I obsessed! I fell in love with Stampin' Up products after seeing all the amazing cards on Pinterest. I chose Stampin' Up because I love how simple it is to make a gorgeous card with all their coordinating colors and products. Hope you enjoy my website.
